NEWSBy Darryl Lara September 2, 2022Bethesda forced Arkane Studios to use Prey as title for its game
Raphaël Colantonio left Arkane Studios in 2017 after serving as a game director on Prey and several other of the studio's award-winning games.
According to Arkane's co-founder, part of the reason for his departure was the pressure he felt from Bethesda when it came to naming Prey.
Apparently, the studio and its publisher were at odds when it came to naming Prey.
Arkane wanted nothing to do with the original 2006 title but Bethesda reportedly forced it on them as a "non-negotiable."
Even if Prey still sold well in 2017, it was heavily criticized for not being related to the "original" Prey game at all.
Raphaël Colantonio has since moved on and founded a new studio, WolfEye Studios, which is currently working on Wild West.
